Alliance for Good Government Endorses Joe

The Alliance for Good Government endorsed Councilmember Joe Giarrusso for re-election, adding to his broad coalition of support that includes the Independent Women's Organization and the AFL-CIO. 

"I'm humbled and honored to again be endorsed by the Alliance, and I will continue to advance our shared goals by making city government more accountable, transparent, and responsive," said Giarrusso, who the Alliance recognized in 2019 as its "Legislator of the Year" for delivering on campaign promises.

Joe has been an independent-minded change agent on the City Council – laser-focused on safe neighborhoods, better streets, and a stronger local economy. 

Joe has brought a new level of accountability to the Sewerage and Water Board and was a driving force in the city’s commitment to a new SWB substation - a cleaner, modern way to power the pumps to combat flooding. His property tax cuts saved New Orleanians over $30M in the last 2 years and we will continue to see the same level of savings through 2023. His commitment to safer communitiesis strong. We need an effective police force and increased services for our at risk youth.
